Sustainable Flooring Initiative Launched by Eneref Institute

Initiative to Feature Customer Testimonials of Successful Installations, Intended to Encourage Wider Use of Eco-Friendly Floors in Homes and Buildings

Philadelphia – January 20, 2015 – Eneref Institute, a leading advocate for sustainable development, announces the launch of its Sustainable Flooring (SF) initiative, intended to encourage a wider use of sustainable flooring materials and inspire flooring manufactures and contractors to reduced their use of natural resources.

The primary focus of the initiative will be to publish a series of Advocacy Reports emphasizing the benefits of sustainable flooring, featuring independent testimonials by architects, facility owners, and homeowners. Eneref Advocacy reports will also support sustainable best practices of flooring manufacturers, by spotlighting their successes in efficiency, recycling, transparency, greenhouse gas reductions and social responsibility.

Eneref’s third-party Advocacy Reports are designed to build confidence in best-in-class sustainable solutions and are already the industry-standard for case study examinations targeting specifiers and end-users, for efficient lighting and solar technologies. Eneref Advocacy Reports draw on the expertise of industry advisors as well as testimonial interviews with end-user customers to provide a uniquely authentic, real-world perspective on earth-friendly products and services.

The first in Eneref’s series of Sustainable Flooring Advocacy Reports has examined the use of polished concrete in a Tuscaloosa middle school. The report included testimonials from the architect and school administrators establishing the benefits of the school’s polished concrete floor.

The Tuscaloosa school report will also be republished in Commercial Architecture Magazine, March 2016 issue, and other media outlets.

Advocacy Reports can be supplemented with 90-second Eneref Testimonial Videos, edited like an advertisement, to provide influencers and specifiers with the opportunity to learn about, and advance, the earth-friendly solutions highlighted in Eneref’s reports. The initiative will also launch an online Virtual Campus featuring the complete repository of Eneref Advocacy Reports and Videos demonstrating successful applications of Sustainable Flooring in homes and buildings.

The Sustainable Flooring Virtual Campus will be modeled after the Eneref’s Natural Interior Daylight initiative.

In addition, Eneref Institute will publish a market report outlining the current market obstacles to sustainable flooring, similar to their daylighting report.

“The benefits of Sustainable Flooring outweigh the investment,” according to Seth Warren Rose, Founding Director of Eneref Institute. “As sustainable practices grow more common, its use in homes and buildings will continue to increase.”
