George Brown Appointed Program Director of Eneref Institute’s Fostering Critical Dialogue Initiative
WASHINGTON, D.C., NOVEMBER 26, 2024 — Eneref Institute is proud to announce the appointment of George Brown as the Program Director of its Fostering Critical Dialogue (FCD™) initiative. With a distinguished career in substance use prevention education, Brown brings a wealth of experience to the institute’s mission of promoting social responsibility and empowering youth through critical thinking.
George Brown previously served as a Senior Prevention Specialist with the Betty Ford Foundation, where he worked closely with schools nationwide to educate students about the dangers of teen substance misuse. In his new role at Eneref Institute, Brown will expand upon this important work by leading FCD™, an initiative designed to engage students, staff, and parents in meaningful conversations that inspire informed decision-making.
“I am thrilled to join Eneref and spearhead the Fostering Critical Dialogue initiative,” said George Brown. “By encouraging open dialogue and critical thinking, we aim to empower students to make choices that positively impact their lives and communities. I look forward to collaborating with educators and families to create safer, healthier environments for our youth.”
The FCD™ initiative aligns with Eneref Institute’s longstanding commitment to social responsibility, global well-being, and sustainable development. Founded in 2001, the institute has championed various campaigns and initiatives that address pressing social and environmental issues.
“George’s expertise and passion for youth empowerment make him the ideal leader for our initiative,” said Seth Warren Rose, Founding Director of the Eneref Institute. “His approach to engaging students through critical dialogue perfectly embodies our mission to inspire positive change and responsible decision-making.”
Under Brown’s leadership, FCD™ will offer interactive presentations and workshops tailored to the unique needs of each school community. The program emphasizes the development of critical thinking skills, enabling students to navigate social challenges such as peer pressure and make informed choices regarding substance misuse.
Key Objectives of the Fostering Critical Dialogue Initiative:
- Empower Students: Encourage critical thinking and open discussions about the risks associated teen substance misuse.
- Engage Communities: Collaborate with educators and parents to foster a comprehensive and supportive environment for youth.
- Promote Informed Decisions: Provide students with the tools and knowledge to make choices that positively impact their futures.
