Water Quantity

Poor water quality has a direct impact on water quantity in a number of ways. Polluted water that cannot be used for drinking, bathing, industry or agriculture effectively reduces the amount of useable water within a given area. Around 700 million people in 43 countries suffer today from water scarcity, a situation whereby there are insufficient water resources to satisfy long-term average requirements, according to UN-Water.
